Dear Church Family,

Because I am not able to personally visit each of you, I am taking this opportunity to share with you recent events at Lavon Drive Baptist Church.

I hope and pray that in doing so each of you will sense God’s leading as we walk in His grace.

I believe, as I hope you do, that our church has been blessed tremendously as we have diligently reached our community and many around the world with the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ. Over the decades, we have seen thousands come to Christ, but we have also watched as our facilities have aged. Some of those facilities have become a hindrance to our continued effectiveness as a ministry. On February 18th, the active membership of Lavon Drive voted with over a 95% majority to move forward with a renovation project that will position us to effectively reach both current and future generations for the Lord.  With this exciting decision comes a challenge. Since our current monthly income must be used for our operating budget, we must now focus on a solution to successfully implement the renovation plans to which we have committed.

Reimagine is the name chosen for this renovation program as well as the stewardship campaign that complements it. As part of our Reimagine campaign, every household is asked to prayerfully consider making a sacrificial commitment—over and above your ongoing tithes and offerings—to be given over the next three years. We hope to raise the necessary resources to fund this project and ensure that Lavon Drive continues vibrantly into the days ahead. As you can see, Reimagine is an important step to our future, and your involvement impacts its success.

Let me encourage you to begin praying now about how your family will participate in what God is doing here at Lavon Drive. On May 6, we will invite you, along with the rest of our church family, to make your financial commitment during a special Commitment Day service. Between now and then, we will be sharing more about the project, the needs, and the many ways you can be part of this exciting phase in the history of Lavon Drive.

These are exciting days of decision in our church. Let us commit to seek and act in God’s will. To the glory of God, we will move ahead with faith.

In His Name,
